The Ambiance Restaurant.
Do you want a pleasant place to relax, where it is easy to park your car, no unwanted noise just the sound of the sea lapping against the rocks, comfortable seating overlooking an attractive bay?
Then The Ambiance is for you.
It is overlooked but not overshadowed, being literally on the sea coast; by another restaurant once Di Figaro, but now with a menu from Brazil!
The Ambiance is well established and known for it's never failing good quality, pleasant well trained staff and relaxed atmosphere - ambiance says it all.
We have eaten there several times and although the food is not of Michelin standard,
( where is on this island? ) have always had an enjoyable time, and consider it good value for money.
It is not expensive for what is one of the better restaurants here; the lunch menu is of particular good value.
The main menu is comprehensive with interesting starters, meat, poultry and fish dishes . Sadly we find the desserts so similar in most restaurants and not very appetising.
The San Tropez, in Alcanjak, is perhaps an exception, delicious, addictive can I have two portions, Warm Chocolate Soufflé and a good Crepes Suzette.
At The Ambience, the Seafood Pancake, a generous starter dish, is excellent, (perhaps I am wrong about not being of Michelin standard!) but of course Chicken Wings with, I feel sure, Barbecue sauce from Tempo, which I have eaten and enjoyed several times, would not feature.
The lamb chops are typical of N.Cyprus but perhaps more tender than most, I wish restaurants here would serve them pink, when requested to do so, they are thin and easy to overcook but pink is not impossible.
Seftali is another first class offering, perhaps the best we have tasted, probably made by the Ambiance chef, it is tasty, very succulent and friable, not the solid lumps of congealed mince sometimes served, it is spicy but not too hot, just right for us, we would return for this alone.
The Kozan in Karsyaka also serves a good Seftali, which is bought from a butcher in Larnaca. We can not find which.
The Lamb in the Oven, only served to order, on Sundays, unless you are lucky, it is the tastiest most succulent we have eaten here over a period of 7 years.
The reason for this difference? It isn't lamb it is goat!
